JESUS SAID

"I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman...abide in Me and I in you.  As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine, no more can you, except you abide in me.

John 15:1, 4

To abide in Him, the true vine, is to have life. Peace is part of such abiding, a by-product.  Jesus calls us to that resting position in Himself not to dominate us, but to live through us.  The One who knows no panic or fear desires to live in us and what He gives now is forever.  It will never diminish but only increase.

Having peace and keeping it, centers on one truth alone, Jesus Christ.  He is the source of all true peace.  To have Him is to have peace and enjoy the daily walk that means abundant living with all the purpose and joy that He intended us to have.

Each day we need to ask Him to be in the center of our will.  Living in Jesus and He in us, we will not only know the will of God for our life, we will have Life itself in the center of His will.  There really is no other place to be.

"Rest in the Lord; wait patiently for Him."  In Hebrew, "Be silent to God, and let Him mold you."  Keep still and He will mold you to the right shape."

                                                                                       Martin Luther

“Our Lord frequently prayed alone, separating Himself from every earthly distraction.  As we observe the prayer life of Jesus, we notice the earnestness with which He prayed. In Gethsemane, in the intensity of His supplication, He fell to the ground and agonized with God until His sweat became “as drops of blood” (Luke 22:44).  What an example of “prayer in suffering” and how He proves the promise that those who are suffering need to look to God even more earnestly.”                                                                       Billy Graham

Lord, teach me to be still.  Bring me into a deeper walk with You, where I can be completely in Your will, daily, hourly, moment by moment.  Mold me to Your will before I go out into our often-disturbing world where there is no peace.  Thank you that Jesus is our peace and through Him, you have given us everything we need to be quiet and at rest even in the midst of the busyness and chaos of this world, in Jesus Name…                                             Selected
