TO PLEASE HIS FATHER!

Have you ever learned from the Bible how Jesus always did what He knew would bring happiness to His Father? Jesus knew that sacrifice was what He had come to do and was what His Father planned for Him.

No matter whom He was talking to or what He was doing at any time, His main thought was that He wanted to bring delight to His Father. It helped Him to be loving and kind to everyone, even though many were not kind to Him and, in fact, had often tried to kill Him.

From the time of His baptism in the Jordan River and probably from the time He was 12 years old, asking and answering questions in the temple, He knew that He would one day die to take away the sin of everyone who ever lived. This would have been a terrible burden except for His great love for His Father and everyone, and knowing that His Father would give Him the strength to do it.

Have you ever thought about what it must have cost His Father to send His Beloved Son to the earth? While He knew Jesus would be faithful, He must have suffered as much or more than His Son. How do you think God felt seeing His precious, loving Son made fun of by the Religious leaders who said so many evil and untrue things about Him? Yet, Jesus gave His life for them without a one complaint.

When someone we love is hurt or treated unfairly, we often want to hurt them back. But Jesus treated everyone with love and forgiveness, which He had learned at His Father’s side in the many years He was with Him before being born on earth. God is Love and He could not have had a Son who was not a loving person. Parents, who are loving, bring up loving children who want to bring joy to others as well as to their loving God and His blessed Son, Jesus.

While it is hard to see now with all the evil in this world, how when God’s kingdom is on earth and Jesus is King, ruling and blessing all the world; how everyone will enjoy the many blessings as they learn to be obedient. As a loving Father, God will finally be able to give all His earthly children the blessings He has prepared and promised from the beginning of the world. How wonderful God’s Kingdom will be!
