THE CHILDREN STORY CORNER

                                ARE YOU FEARFUL?

Are you a fearful person?  Do you worry about what is going to happen later on today or tomorrow?  Do you hesitate to make a decision lest you make the wrong one?   Or do you want someone else to make decisions for you, that way you don’t have to take any blame?  We should make decisions for ourselves based on whatever information we can obtain.  We may not always make the right decision, but it is better to make a wrong one than and make none.  A wrong decision may be a nuisance, but it can be corrected.

For instance, you see water trickling out of the bathroom.  When you check you see someone left the faucet running.  Do you go and tell someone about it, or go in and turn off the tap?  You smell something burning and see the stove is still on under the empty pan.  Do you turn it off, or go and look for someone to tell about it?

Many times the sensible thing to do is the logical one, such as the faucet.  But that is not always the case, so you need to be able to make a sensible decision.  If the situation is not dangerous, such as fire or something that could hurt someone, you could go ask someone for advice.  If it is dangerous though, such as a fire or flooding, the sooner you tell someone about it, the better.

Then at other times we worry about something that might happen.  Usually it doesn’t, but that does not always stop us from worrying.  At such times we may bombard the Lord with our prayers, or pester people with our fears.  When we look back, we can see the Lord often has the answer on the way before we even ask.

Therefore, remember to tell Jesus about your fears and ask Him to supply the answers, so you can rest in Him.

Fear not, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed. I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
