CMF Liaison Representative to Europe: Trip Report by Joe Knapp to England & Romania:  There were two trips made to England and Romania in 2006.  The first trip in March was one week in England and two in Romania with Sr. Pat who had not been to Romania since 1999.  It was a fast but blessed time of reunion with the brethren in both countries, with much joy at seeing each other again.  And for Sr. Pat it was also an opportunity to be renewed in understanding more closely the value of the annual trips to these brethren.

The second trip was from July 23 to Oct 30, with one month in England and two months in Romania, our longest trip yet. In England we visited the brethren at the retirement center, and at Stonehouse, Crick, Rugby, and Warrington, and attended the week long conference at High Leigh.   We had the special pleasure of leading some rewarding teen studies at High Leigh.  We also had great studies and discussions with all the brethren, and a chance to see a recently purchased building that will soon be the new home of the Warrington Fellowship.

In Romania, we revisited brethren of past years, and met many new brethren.  We visited in Cluj, Alba Iulia, Baia Mare, Simpetru, Tirgu Mures, Gilau, Iadera, Ruginoasa, Lugasu de Jos, Rodna, Ruginoasa, Satu Sasar, Catcau, and Finisel.  We met many new brethren, especially in Cluj and Baia Mare at the existing fellowships, and also visited many individual families at their homes.  We had discussions on many technical truths, but mostly on living truths, and especially on the Lord’s providences in our lives, and on leading with our minds rather than our hearts and letting the heart follow instead in appreciation.  And we spoke often of faith, patience, and love as most necessary ingredients in our daily lives.  With the remembrances of communism, and with the difficult economy there, and with the uncertainty of what entry in the European Union in January would mean, there are all greatly relevant subjects to the brethren.

A great special joy was the extra time we were able to spend with some teens and some young adults to answer their questions, and to encourage them on in their walk with the Lord.  We also visited the orphanage at Brosteni with Cecil Pagel, and saw its many continuing needs, but also its faith and hope.

In all these trips we were greatly blessed as usual, and received great welcome and hospitality in every place.  We continue to pray for these brethren, and look forward to our next visits there.

                                                                                           Joe Knapp

A Personal Note of Thanks:

Once again I want to thank all of you that help us so graciously with donations. It is comforting to know that our efforts to share God’s word is appreciated and that there are many who are willing to contribute to us the funds that are necessary for CMF to continue as it has for more than fifty years, offering free of charge the New Creation magazine, booklets, tracts, as well as audio tapes of the New Creation magazine and some booklets to those who are sight impaired. I also want to express my thanks to all the CMF and the New Creation staff, as well as all the Bible Truth Correspondence teachers who volunteer many hours of their time and expenses so that God’s Word can continue to go out around the world.
