BEYOND THE MILLENNIUM
It is not surprising that some who have vivid imaginations, after learning of the Millennial Kingdom blessings promised to all mankind by God in His Word, want to venture beyond what has been revealed to us by suggesting some added plan, scheme, theory, or teaching of their own, presenting them as Bible truths. Thus, they succeed in drawing away a number of disciples after themselves who, for lack of a good knowledge of the Scriptures, fall into the trap of human speculation and become entangled in error.
God has a perfect plan for His Church and for all mankind. This plan is revealed in all its beauty and perfection in the Holy Bible. It manifests wonderfully the four perfect and glorious attributes of our Heavenly Father as revealed by His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. These attributes are Wisdom, Power, Justice, and Love.
The prophetic line of revelation reaches its conclusion at the end of the “little season,” when at the completion of the Millennial Age, Satan is freed from his prison and allowed to, one final time, deceive and lead those who would choose to follow him against God and His government on the earth. The closing words of this prophecy and the results of this final rebellion are stated in Rev. 20:9: “And fire came down from heaven and devoured them.” Satan and all his followers with him will then be destroyed forever. This is the end of revealed prophecy as far as God’s Plan is concerned. We are told nothing further than this in His written Word.
What will happen after that? Wisdom tells us that since it is not revealed, it is presently God’s secret. We should not attempt to speculate by adding to the Scriptures what has not been revealed. A warning about this was given by the angel to John, in Rev. 22:18, but still some do it, by bringing forth their unfounded teachings, presuming to be talking for God and perhaps even thinking that they are giving Him glory. Instead of glorifying God, however, they are opposing Him and the truths of the Bible. The Adversary is behind all false teachings. He deceives and perverts men’s minds so that they may destroy God’s Word by adding words and thoughts that are mere theories and speculation. When a new doctrine or teaching is presented to you, ask for a clear “thus says the Lord.” If it cannot be produced, reject it. Let God be true though every man be a liar if he is not in harmony with God’s revealed Truth found only in His Sacred Word of Truth. “Prove all things, and hold fast to that which is good” (1 Thess. 5:21).
